Когда через три часа, прошерстив почти всё законодательство, я не нашёл ни одного юридического определения секты, и не нашёл упоминания секты ни в одном законе, ни в одном нормативном акте, мне стало страшно. Оказывается, у нас в бытовом обиходе, лексиконе, существует это понятие как само собой разумеющееся, как почти «экстремизм», «контрабанда» и «взяточничество», а юридического определения нет.

Оказывается, у нас в бытовом обиходе, лексиконе, существует это понятие как само собой разумеющееся, как почти «экстремизм», «контрабанда» и «взяточничество», а юридического определения нет.
Мне не очень нравиться термин «секта», потому что это не библейский термин. Такого термина нет на страницах Священного Писания. Более того, это не святоотеческий термин. Святые отцы, они не использовали этот термин. Этот термин в обиход современного западного богословия ввёл Мартин Лютер, когда писал Толкование на Послание к Галатам. В его понимании секта — это группа людей, которая не имеет законного рукоположения, которая не имеет богословского образования, которая никак не связана с исторической христианской церковью, и которые сами себя отправляют на проповедь. Вот это, скажем так, классическое, одно из первых определений «секты». То есть самосвяты и самозванцы. Это определение им дал, в общем-то ересиарх, Мартин Лютер. Я думаю, что это определение не лишено смысла и в наше время. оно тоже теперь актуально. Они, по-прежнему, самосвяты и, по-прежнему люди лишённые какой-либо культуры постижения Слова Божия. Они прямо так и говорят: «Пусть каждый по-своему толкует Писание»
