The four sons of Grigor-Hamam divided his possessions. Atrnerseh (910—956) founded on the north shore of the Kura the Kingdom of Shake-Cambysen (Heret in Georgian) with its centre at Shake, today known as Shaki (in northern Azerbaijan). Georgian influences caused this area to convert to Chalcedonism in the second half of the tenth century. In the eleventh century the kingdom passed into the hands of the Bagratids or Kiwrikids of Lorr and was attached by them to neighbouring Kakheti before being incorporated into Georgia in 1104.
