Mala tijela Sunčevog sistema kao što su (308933) 2006 SQ, 2005 VX3, (87269) 2000 OO67, 2002 RN109, 2007 TG422, i razni drugi kometi (poput Velikog kometa 1577.) imaju veće heliocentrične orbite. Ali samo (308933) 2006 SQ372, (87269) 2000 OO67 i 2007 TG422 imaju perifel koji je dalji od Jupiterove orbite, te je stoga upitno da li je ispravno klasificirati ove objekte kao komete.
Različiti programi epohe i podataka mogu generirati različita vremenska razdoblja za Sednin perihel. Koristeći epohu 2014., Sedna ima datum perihela 2076.[4] Prema epohi 1990., Sedna ima perihel 2479282.959111.12. 2075.JPL Horizons ukazuje da je datum perihela 18.7. 2076.[10]
