On 29th of March 2012, flight from Oyu Tolgoi mine to Ulaanbaatar had an accident preliminary causes of accident were sudden gust of wind, which pushed the plane off the run way during take off. Although no one was seriously injured, the air plane suffered engine damage along with broken propeller due to propeller hitting the run way lights. The case is still under investigation.
On 30 March 2012, Aero Mongolia Fokker 50 aircraft with Reg. JU-8257, during take-off roll in Oyutolgoi airport skid off runway and right hand engine
propeller separated due to collision with side runway lights, Aircraft JU-8257 airframe righted off due to severe damage. No fatal and no injuries.
