  • According to Brown, Quaoar is correctly pronounced with three syllables. Trujillo's website on Quaoar gives a three-syllable pronunciation, /ˈkwɑː(w)ɑːr/, as an approximation of the Tongva pronunciation Bản mẫu:IPA-azc.[29] However, the name can be also pronounced as two syllables, /ˈkwɑːwɑːr/, reflecting the usual English spelling and pronunciation of the deity, Kwawar.[30][31]
