  • CIA Gave Aid to Tibetan Exiles in '60s, Files Show. The Los Angeles Times. [8 September 2013]. (原始内容存档于2011-08-16). In his 1990 autobiography, "Freedom in Exile," the Dalai Lama explained that his two brothers made contact with the CIA during a trip to India in 1956. The CIA agreed to help, "not because they cared about Tibetan independence, but as part of their worldwide efforts to destabilize all Communist governments," the Dalai Lama wrote.

  • Gyalo Thondup: Interview Excerpts. 《華爾街日報》. 2009-02-20 [2018-10-11]. (原始内容存档于2018-10-11). Feelings after cooperation with the CIA ended (in the late 1960s): American didn't want to help Tibet. It just wanted to make trouble for China. It had no far-sighted policy for Tibet. I wasn't trained for this (clandestine operations). We didn't know about power politics. In retrospect, the Tibetan armed resistance backed by the CIA: "I can't say the CIA help was useful. Whatever help they provided, it really provoked the Chinese. It led to reprisals. I feel very sorry for this."
