究其原因，我們認為高雄市政府長期以來，一味硬體思維規劃，進行城市美化、綠化，卻缺乏軟體、融資、法規與流程等配套，更沒有思考在地居民適合或實際需要的產業類型，徒讓市府債台高築，卻無助於在地就業，也難以吸引青年在地創業深根，以致新投資乏善可陳，每逢選舉卻又以「重北輕南」、「資源不均」作為在地經濟沒有起色的藉口。
