The earliest explicit attribution of this text(寶行王正論) to Nagarjuna(龍猛) can be found in Bhavaviveka's Tarkajvala(清辨的思擇焰)……It is ascribed to Nagarjuna by a number of sources beginning in the sixth century and shows an affinity for common Madhyamika doctrine. Finally, the Ratnavali contains many of the peculiar stylistic elements found in the Karika(中論) which are not found in other authors of the early Madhyamika school — such as Aryadeva(聖天), Buddhapalita(佛護) and the author of the Akutobhaya(無畏論).
