: نگهداری CS1: سایر موارد (link)The term "homosexuality" is itself problematic when applied to ancient cultures, inasmuch as neither Greek nor Latin possesses any one word covering the same semantic range as the modern concept. The term is adopted in this volume not out of any conviction that a fundamental identity exists between ancient and modern practices or self-conceptions, but as a convenient shorthand linking together a range of different phenomena involving same-gender love and/or sexual activity. To be sure, classical antiquity featured a variety of discrete practices in this regard, each of which enjoyed differing levels of acceptance depending on the time and place.
As scholars have increasingly come to recognize, the ancient Greek world did not know of the modern 'life-style' category-distinction between homosexuality and heterosexuality, according to which those terms are used to designate contrasting psychological or behavioral profiles.
Readers of Plato's dialogues will be familiar with the cultural pattern according to which adolescent Greek males bonded with older men in temporary homoerotic relationships. It is misleading to describe such couples as 'homosexuals', if that term is meant to designate a person whose sexual orientation is same sex for life. In Greek society the normal assumption would have been that the younger partner would, in a later phasde in life, go on to marry and reproduce.
Among patients with gonorrhoea , rates of pharyngeal infection are higher in homosexual men (20.9 – 25 %) and heterosexual women (10%) than heterosexual men (3.2 – 7 %)

: نگهداری یادکرد:نامهای متعدد:فهرست نویسندگان (link)During the golden age of Islam (the Umayyad dynasty, 661–750) ‘‘homosexuality was a variant of an eroticism celebrated in all its facets’’ despite the condemnation in the Qur’an of homosexual acts, ‘‘and an adult male might have sex with an adolescent boy, provided that the man took the active role’’ (Patane´ 2006, p. 272). The modern reader learns about the pederastic relationships in ancient Islam through literature, Ab¯u Nuw¯as’s poetry in particular. He was one of the leading poets in Arabic literature and wrote about many relationships with boys and female slaves. Ab¯u Nuw¯as wrote specifically about fifteen-year-old boys and those slightly younger, as well as pages, slaves, and young male prostitutes, and ‘‘his verses bespeak a burning passion’’ (Patane´ 2006, p. 274). Although the sexual acts are not detailed, the poet alludes to their possibility by saying that the boys had ‘‘a supple and slender body, smooth skin, narrow hips, [and] firm buttocks’’ (Patane´ 2006, p. 274). Ab¯u Nuw¯as’s poetry represents a period in Islamic history that describes homosexuality, in particular pederastic relationships, extensively; that period reached its peak in the twelfth century.
