犠牲者1700人の宗教についての調査で、全体の内の約10%がユダヤ教徒であったことが示されている。また犠牲者の姓を調査した結果、約400人 (およそ15%) がユダヤ人である可能性があることが判明した。犠牲となったキャンター・フィッツジェラルド(英語版)社の従業員658人のうち、公共の慰霊碑に名前があった390人を調査した結果、その中の49人 (およそ13%) がユダヤ人であったことが判明した。2002 American Jewish Year Bookによると、ニューヨーク州の人口のうち9%がユダヤ人であった。またWTCの犠牲者のうち64%がニューヨーク州在住の人物であった。
