- ネンニウスの序文には、執筆当時が「主キリストの降誕より858年、ブリトン王メルヴィンの在位24年目にして」とあるのだが、この序文は、後年に書かれたものということか。Ben Guy 論によれば、今でいう『ブリトン人の歴史』が合成されたのは858年頃、アベルゲレの町においてであり、おそらく『ブリトン人の歴史』の原書に、当町所蔵の他の史書を編入して編まれたという[30]。

- 森のの解説では"墓"から"この塚は、測るたびに.."と表現を変えている[23]。これは原文でも"sepulcrum"から"mensurandum tumulum"と表現を変えているのであり"tumulus"は盛り土や墳墓の意味合いが強いように思われる。しかしながらこれらの二語は同義語（互換可能）とも説明される。英訳だと"tomb"から "measure the grave"と表現は変えているが意味はさして変わらない。
